The W. Bednarowski Trust, University of Aberdeen, Scotland and the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw, Poland are pleased to announce the Polish-Scottish Philosophy Conference and Workshop 2013 which will take place in J. Brudziński Hall, Kazimierzowski Palace, located on the University of Warsaw central campus (Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28). The leading, but not exclusive, themes of both events are Epistemology and Political Philosophy.

The conference lasts three full days 8-10 September 2013 and will have 28 invited participants including three keynote speakers: Professor Wlodek Rabinowicz (University of Lund), Professor John Skorupski (University of St Andrews), and Professor Tadeusz Szubka (Szczecin University). It will be preceded by a two-day workshop, 6-7 September 2013, for 15 Polish and Scottish PhD students. The workshop will be led by four academics: Wlodek Rabinowicz (Lund University), Jasper Kallestrup (University of Edinburgh), Ben Sachs (University of St Andrews), and Rafał Wonicki  (University of Warsaw).

The Organising Committee consists of six members: Robin Cameron, Jan B. Deregowski, and Nigel Dower – representing the University of Aberdeen and Adrian Kuźniar, Joanna Odrowąż-Sypniewska and Natalia Karczewska representing the University of Warsaw. The language of the conference and workshop is English. No registration fee will be charged. The W. Bednarowski Trust will finance meals and reimburse travel expenses for the invited participants; accommodation and venue expenses will be covered by the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw. Although the main participants are by invitation, it is possible for some others interested to attend the day sessions.

Polish-Scottish Philosophy Conference and Workshop 2013 has been officially endorsed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Warsaw, the Scots Philosophical Association, and The Committee on Philosophical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
